Gaza Hot Chili is a quiet portrait of endurance where love, routine, and the smallest gestures become a way of holding on to life.

Description

Tea, fire, silence

A quiet portrait of an elderly couple living by the sea in Gaza. Through small daily rituals of tea, fire and silence, the film explores love, endurance, and the fragile beauty of staying.

They find a chili seed in their ruined home and plant it by their tent, as a symbol of life.

Director's note

The slow time that follows

I am interested in what happens after catastrophe, in the slow time that follows. This film does not explain Gaza, but stays close to two people who continue living. I believe cinema can be quiet, and still deeply powerful.

Ibrahim Yaghi, Filmmaker
Screenwriter's note

Survival as a daily act

This film was born from witnessing ordinary lives under extraordinary pressure. I wanted to write about survival as a daily act of resistance, honoring those who continue to live, love, and endure.
